The day of moving is so chaotic, nobody knows where the box with the towels is, and good luck finding sheets to the beds…

My favorite moving day “hack” is to stay at a local hotel after moving all day. And then I tackle all those missing boxes the next day after a really good night’s rest!

Out of office…for 9 days. And somehow I managed to successfully disconnect for the most part- despite multiple deals in the works.

Those of you that are self-employed, especially agents, what are your tricks for disconnecting and truly being out of office? Share your tips👇🏻

Yes, you should invest. And save. And live below y

Yes, you should invest. And save. And live below your means.

But it’s okay to live a life of splurges too.

Not all of our money should be earmarked for retirement. Or kids’ college. Or for a rainy day.

I gladly dropped $700 today on club tickets to two Razorback games. A splurge that allows me to enjoy life.

I fly first class. While rarely paying for it (🚨DM me for the BEST way to score a lot of free airline miles!🚨), I still occasionally fork over the money for a first class ticket.

Because I can.
& because I want to.

That’s THE goal of this debt free life. You self-deprived in order to reach a debt free life (congrats!) but don’t forget the most important part of a debt free life:

ENJOY LIFE & THE MONEY YOU’RE MAKING.

I know a few things a man oughta know…

…but it doesn’t mean I have it all figured out. I’m still trying to solve the world’s problems one beer & porch session at a time.

Part of succeeding in this business is the ability

Part of succeeding in this business is the ability to have hard conversations.

(Spoiler: it’s also part of succeeding at adulting)

While there are moments where you’re the hero, a big chunk of our role as Realtors is “don’t shoot the messenger.”

Sometimes our hard convos are
•Telling a buyer they lost yet another bidding war
•Calling our seller to tell them their house didn’t appraise
•Just about every conversation with a cooperating agent on a deal— because we are both working solely for the benefit of our clients so it can get tense
•Delivering not-so-great inspection findings to sellers
•Explaining to our sellers that their emotional attachment to their home adds $0 value to the home
•Educating our buyers how to behave in an intense seller’s market
…& so many other hard conversations.

If we try to avoid these, we are showing not only our immaturity but our lack of professionalism. Instead, knowing HOW to have these conversations while keeping our clients’ needs at the forefront is the true mark of a professional.

Agents- let’s stop relying on our assistants to do the dirty work of hard conversations. We’re paid to educate, advocate & communicate. Let’s do our jobs!
