Hi! I’m Jenn!
In 2011, I was saddled with $70,000 in student loan debt when I purchased a very beat-up fixer upper home which I slowly remodeled over the course of two years. I sold that home for a nice profit, which allowed me to make a good dent on my student loan debt. Fast forward to five years & more home remodels later, & I paid off that entire student loan balance!
Since then, I’ve become an Executive Broker with my family’s real estate brokerage. I’m a writer & proponent for responsible personal finance & living within your means. I share how living a life mixed with real estate, personal finance and even frequent travel is all possible– regardless of your budget!
Why I Love Real Estate
My dad has owned our real estate firm for almost 50 years. I grew up at open houses, helping with remodels, clean out his rentals, and all the nitty gritty parts of real estate. Through osmosis and lots of direction from Dad, I eventually became obsessed with real estate. My house hacking led to financial freedom from my student loan debt, and I realized then the power of real estate– and I love helping others discover this same thing!
How Personal Finance Became Part of My Life
Once I paid off my $70,000 in student loan debt, I became obsessed with the power of debt-free living. I then paid off my car balance. I began to evaluate and change my view on money which led to debt-free living, retirement planning, stock market investing, and living below my means. And I love sharing how you can too!
Why I Never Gave Up Travel
There are some budget gurus that preach you shouldn’t spend money on things like debt while you’re saddled with debt. While I agree in concept, I refused to live a recluse life for years. So I got creative and figured out way to travel for free, well below retail prices, and still live within my means! This has allowed me to travel frequently and abroad!
