The home stretch of the bathroom renovation challenge is underway! I’ve been so excited about this project because I knew the tile would be the showstopper! You got a glimpse of the tile last week. While I’m sticking to my staple rule of house flipping: use neutral colors, I’m playing with the design to create a jaw-dropping effect for buyers. Now that tile has been installed, the room is starting to come together! Even though this is a small bathroom, it’s functional & beautiful!
Bathroom Renovation Update
Raise your hand if you’ve had late nights assembling furniture…your hand is raised isn’t it? And then you discover a thousand screws, not enough washers, or missing parts. I hate assembling furniture, but I love this amazing marble top vanity I found. I wanted a vanity that provided storage but didn’t block too much of the amazing tile accent wall. Despite the annoying assembly, the finished product is stunning!
Assembling the vanity was frustrating, but hooking up the faucet proved to be equally as frustrating! There are some minor plumbing issues to address before I can hook up the beautiful gold faucet. I’m incorporating various mixed metals in this room. Mixing metals used to scare me, but I’m excited to incorporate multiple finishes in this space.
For example, I chose oil-rubbed bronze finish for the shower trim kit & shower door trim. The mirror is a mixture of oil-rubbed bronze and gold, as is the light fixture. Since there are so many light neutrals in this space, I wanted to warm up the space with some darker metals- especially to add contrast to the tile wall.
Now that the big items are done in this room, now it’s time to knock-out the punch list items next week! In the next week, the shower door & barn door will be installed. The light fixture will be installed, trim added, and a major deep clean will happen! I can’t wait to see the finished product!
