It’s been a whirlwind month over at Flip 5. I was taking my sweet time finishing up the kitchen remodel (still not totally done, but that’s a story for another post) when I got an exciting phone call. The Editor of our local society magazine, Citiscapes, said they were a go for a feature article about The Bachelorette Pad Flip and my crazy story! Aaaand they wanted to not only do an interview, but they wanted to send a photographer over to Flip 5.
I don’t know if you recall how rough Flip 5 was at one point, but it certainly was nowhere near magazine worthy! So I had to kick it in high gear to meet the deadline and have it mostly done. It was the motivation I needed to knock out some big projects!
The March edition of Citiscapes is their Home Design Trends special, and I am so honored to be featured! I’m a longtime reader of Citiscapes, and it’s super surreal to see myself in the pages of a magazine so widely read around NWA.
If you’re local, you can pick up a free copy just about anywhere. The article tells the story of my accidental start into house flipping, paying off my student loans, and a glimpse into one of my current projects- Flip 5.
I really hit the jackpot on the photographer they sent over! Kerri McMahon is a local photographer and is also a traveling photographer for Whole Foods. She was sweet and spunky, so we clicked immediately! Having my picture taken is far from my favorite thing to do– but Kerri was absolutely great! She has a great food blog too, so be sure you check her out!
This journey keeps surprising me. I accidentally wound up as a house flipper and real estate investor, and I’ve got to experience some pretty cool things because of this journey. I’m still shocked and humbled that anybody even cares what some single gal in Arkansas is up to, but I think my story resonates with a lot of people- especially single females. I’m grateful for my readers, my support network, and all the people that keep providing me with cool opportunities- like Citiscapes.
